India wins men’s team gold, archery moves to three golds at Asian Games

(Image credit: X) NEW DELHI: India continued its strong run in archery at the 2026 Asian Games as the trio of Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam won the gold medal in the men’s composite team event in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan on Wednesday.The Indian team beat China 238-237 in a thrilling final to clinch the gold medal.India held their nerve in a tight contest.The men’s composite team gold came on a big day for Indian archery.Earlier, the women’s team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep also won gold after defeating China 238-234 in the final.India’s mixed team of Chikitha and Sahil also finished on top after defeating South Korea in a shootout. The win also secured India’s Olympic quota for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, where the mixed team event will make its Olympic debut.The men’s team of Dalal, Jadhav and Ganesh earlier defeated UAE 235-215 in the round of 16 and Bhutan 235-232 in the quarter-finals.The Indian women’s and mixed teams successfully defended the composite team titles won at the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou.
