Lovlina Borgohain enters the 75kg final to challenge for Asian Games gold
Lovlina Borgohain (image credit: X) NEW DELHI: Star Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain defeated Kazakhstan’s Natalya Bogdanova to enter the women’s 75kg final at the Nishio Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan on Wednesday.Lovlina, who won a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, now has a chance to change the color of her medal at the continental event.The Indian boxer won a closely fought semi-final on points. The judges’ scorecards showed Lovlina winning three rounds while Bogdanova won two rounds on some cards.Lovlina won the first round on three of the five judges’ scorecards. The second round went in her favor on two cards, while the third round was again split between the two boxers.The final score was 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 28-29 and 28-29 in favor of Lovlina.Lovlina will now fight for the gold medal on October 2.
