Main Minister N. Chandrababa Naid on Tuesday announced a strategic plan to develop an economy based on the port by using a large 1,000 kilometer coast of Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister chaired a comprehensive inspection meeting at the Secretariat with officials of the Ministry of the Union ports, Transport and Waterways, including the Minister of the Union TK Ramacandran and higher civil servants.
Mr. Naida stressed that the state would seek to establish a port or fishing port every 50 kilometers to encourage economic growth, employment and infrastructure development. The meeting focused on the rapid monitoring of port infrastructure and maritime development projects.
Shipbuilding
Mr. Naidu discussed the obligation of the bifurcation era of the central government, an initiative to establish a group for the construction and repair of ships in Dugarajapatnam in the Nellore district. The project, based on the initial feasibility report, is proposed that over 2,000 hectares be developed through cooperation between central and state governments.
The plan includes the establishment of a harbor on the Green Poliva integrated with a boat hing and repair with four dry docks, pier equipment and boat equipment. Of the 2,000 acres of soil, 1,000 acres will be assigned to basic units for boat construction and another 1,000 acres for auxiliary sectors. The estimated central investment in the project is CZK 3,500 GBP Crore, while the Andhra Pradesh government contributes to justice.
A special special -purpose vehicle (SPV) will be created for the implementation of the project to attract leading global players in the boat construction sector. Officials reported the main minister that this project is expected to bring a total investment of 26,000 GBP, generate direct employment for 5,000 people and create indirect employment for approximately 30,000 others.
Mr. Naida ordered officials to immediately formulate a detailed action plan for project progress. Other ongoing initiatives for port and coastal development were also reviewed during the meeting. The main minister also urged central officials to carry out the cost movement through the Visakhapatnam port more cost -effective and recognize it as a key strategic assets for the state.
In connection with the emerging opportunities in tourism, the main minister ordered officials to explore the river cruise districts in picturesque areas such as Polavram, Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar to strengthen tourism and local economies.
