Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the alliance government’s commitment to welfare, development and good governance in the state.

Mr. Naidu was addressing the gathering after inaugurating development work worth ₹11,085 crore under the ‘Palle Panduga-3.0’ program at Ramapuram in Varikuntapadu mandal of SPSR Nellore district on Tuesday.

He emphasized that ministers and public representatives are not landlords, but servants of the people. He said that the ‘Palle Panduga’ initiative marked the beginning of development programs in the villages. He noted that CC roads were laid in front of every house to ensure smooth traffic and convenient travel.

Development works worth ₹50,000 crore have been started in urban areas while unprecedented development activities are also taking place in villages, he said, stressing that the development was being done in a visible manner and emphasis was on strengthening the rural economy.

“Mini Gokulams (cattle sheds) and magical drains are being built. Efforts are underway to provide everyone with a house, a place to live, electricity and solar panels. Villages must pave the way for a clean and prosperous state. We are trying to create wealth from waste to transform villages into poverty-free zones and reduce economic inequalities,” Mr Naidu said.

Pat for Pawan

Lauding the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Naidu said that the three ‘Palle Panduga’ programs were successfully conducted in the spirit of dedicated activism. He noted that development initiatives have been launched by holding Gram Sabhas in 13,326 villages in the state.

“After two-and-a-half decades, 10,000 employees across various ranks of the Panchayat Raj system have been given promotions and ₹4,136 crore has been released from the 15th Finance Commission funds. The Panchayat Raj department has received 13 national awards under the leadership of Mr. Pawan Kalyan,” he said.

“The twin engine government is accelerating development and moving ahead at jet speed. Prosperity, development and good governance are the mantras of the NDA government. The government is encouraging women to become entrepreneurs and developing a milk brand on par with Amul,” he said.

Mr. Naidu mentioned that measures were being taken to address drinking water issues and protect horticultural crops amid the continuing impact of El Niño.

“Housing pattas have been distributed to more than 28,000 families in Visakhapatnam. Pattas will be given to another 24,000 people in Vijayawada. The foundation stone for three million houses will be laid soon,” he said.

Dagadarthi Airport

Mr. Naidu announced plans to develop Dagadarthi Airport, located between Krishnapatnam and Ramayapatnam ports. He mentioned that rail and road connectivity would be enhanced to make Nellore and Prakasam districts a logistics hub. Investments worth CZK 1,000,000 are expected through the BPCL plant. Defense industries are also coming to the region, he said.

He urged the natives of Nellore and Udayagiri regions who had settled elsewhere to return and participate in local development. “It is the duty of the government to bring light to the lives of the people and it is the duty of the people to stand by the government,” he said.
