
In response to China, the renaming parts of Arunacal Pradesh repeated the Ministry for External Affairs on Wednesday that the state will always remain part of India.
It called “creative names” and MEA said that “it does not change the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, and always remains an integral and inalitable part of India.”
“We noticed that China had persisted with his vain and nonsensical attempts to name places in the Indian state of Arunacal Pradesh. We categorically reject such attempts in accordance with our principle position,” Mea said.
“The creative name does not change the undeniable reality that Arunacal Pradesh was, and will always remain an integral and inappropriate part of India,” Mea said in an official response to media questions on Wednesday.
Chinese rename tactics
China has repeatedly released maps that rename several places in the northeastern state of Arnacal Pradesh.
Last April, the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs issued a fourth list of “standardized” geographical names in Zangnan, the Chinese name for Arunacal Pradesh, which Beijing claims as part of the southern Tibet. The official website of the Chinese ministry published 30 other names for the region.
Mea strongly condemned the Chinese attempt to rename several places in Arnacal Pradesh. In a statement issued on April 2, Mea criticized Chinese actions and said, “China persisted with its pointless attempts to rename places in the Indian state of Arnacal Pradesh.”

In April 2023, China was renamed 30 seats in Arnacal Pradesh to remember “Zangnan”. The Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs issued a third set of “standardized” names, including 11 residential areas, 12 mountains, four rivers, one lake, one mountain pass and a piece of country.
“In accordance with the relevant provisions of the State Council (Chinese Cabinet), we have standardized some of the geographical names in China Zangnan in conjunction with the relevant departments,” the Chinese Ministry for Civil Affairs quoted South China.
The first dose of “standardized” names of six seats in Arunacal was released in 2017 and the second dose of 15 seats was released in 2021.
Chinese renaming places in the northeast state was a long -term source of tension between the two countries, with India firmly promoted its sovereignty over the state.
