72.97% passed Higher Secondary Plus Two Examination in Thiruvananthapuram District

As many as 72.97% students who appeared for the Plus two matriculation examination from the district this year became eligible for higher studies. The pass percentage last year was 71.73%.

In the regular school category, 30,585 students from 175 schools appeared for the exams this year. Of these, 22,318 received the right to higher education.

The number of students achieving A+ in all subjects was 2,564, compared to 2,371 students last year.

Four schools in the district secured 100% pass rate in the examinations – three unaided schools and one special school.

They included the Government VHSS for the Deaf, Jagatha, where all nine students who appeared for the examination became eligible for higher education; Nirmala Bhavan EM HSS, Kowdiar where all 148 students who appeared for the examination qualified; Sarvodaya Vidyalaya HSS, Nalanchira where all 49 students qualified; and Carmel Girls HSS, Vazhuthacaud where all 262 students qualified.

Fourteen students secured 1200/1200. They include Aparna A. of Government Girls HSS, Cotton Hill; Sneha K. of Government Girls HSS, Manacaud; Sravana Sunil S. of Government Girls HSS, Nedumangad; Aleena GS of Government Girls HSS, Neyyattinkara; Chandana SS from Government Girls HSS, Pattom; JD Abhivad of Government Model HSS, Varkala; Abhirav S. of Government HSS, Thonakkal; Niranjana AS of RRV Girls HSS, Kilimanoor; Parvathy SS of St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Cheriyakolla; Anusree RS of Nirmala Bhavan EM HSS, Kowdiar; Aanjana Suseel of Carmel HSS, Vazhuthacaud; Sreeraj LS by Sr. Elizabeth Joel CSI EM HSS, Attingal; Devananda SR of Government HSS for Girls, Kanniyakulangara; Lakshmi Suresh S. of Chinnamma Memorial Girls HSS, Poojappura.

In the technical schools category, 17 out of 25 students who sat the exam qualified for higher studies, for a pass rate of 68, a sharp drop from last year’s 89.29%. No student got A+ in all subjects.

In the open school category, 170 of the 355 students who applied for the exam qualified, recording a pass percentage of 47.89, a slight drop from 48.8% in 2025. Three students scored A+ in all subjects.

For Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) examinations, the district recorded a pass rate of 76.72, up 3.73 percentage points from 72.99% in 2025.

Of the 2,595 students who cleared the VHSE examinations in the district, 1,991 became eligible for higher studies.

Government VHSS and THS for the Deaf, Jagathy has secured 100% results.
