Vijay announces ₹30k for Asian Games athletes

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Monday congratulated athlete Vithya Ramraj for winning a bronze medal in the 400m hurdles at the Asian Games and announced a cash prize of ₹30 lakh.

In a post on social media, he said that Ms. Ramraj had broken PT Usha’s record set at the 1984 Asian Games and described it as a major achievement. “Her success will remain a source of encouragement for the women and youth of Tamil Nadu,” he added.
