Minister calls on young people to become job providers

Higher Education Minister Roji M. John urged the youth not to remain job seekers but strive to become job providers.

The Minister emphasized that it is necessary to create conditions in which more industries and business activities can grow in order to create more job opportunities.

He was speaking at a meeting in connection with the grand finale of the All-Kerala Speech Competition organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Monday (September 28).

Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Rajkumar Gupta presided over the meeting. Kochi MLA Muhammed Shiyas, Past President of the Chamber Akshay Agarwal and Vice President of the Chamber Chirag J. Shah also spoke.

In the inter-university competition, Riga Rose Babu, Aravind R. Chandran and Gerard John secured the first, second and third positions respectively.

The minister also presented prizes to Gopica Ganesh and Susan Davis, winners of the KR Mehta Memorial Inter-University Essay Writing Competition. The MK Mehta Ever-Rolling Shield for the school that has achieved excellent results in the SSLC examination was presented to Anglo-Indian Girls High School St. Mary, Fort Kochi.
