Lokesh distributes 372 title deeds, commits water, gas, sewerage to Mangalagiri by 2029

IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said he would take responsibility for ensuring drinking water supply, gas connections and underground sewerage facilities to every household in Mangalagiri constituency by 2029, while reiterating his commitment to fulfill every promise made during the 2024 elections.

He was speaking after distributing permanent title deeds and sanction letters of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to 372 beneficiaries belonging to Mangalagiri constituency on Monday (September 28, 2026). Mr. Lokesh said the decades-old dream of a 100-bed hospital in Mangalagiri would soon become a reality.

While recalling that many leaders had asked him to make a promise in 2019 regarding home ownership rights to the poor in Mangalagiri, he said he did not want to make a hasty commitment. “It was only after studying the issues related to the constituency that I made the promise and proceeded to fulfill it,” he added.

The NDA government was now providing permanent title deeds to eligible beneficiaries. Lands worth nearly ₹2,000 crore have so far been distributed in the constituency through 6,060 deeds in three phases, he said.

Mr. Lokesh said that as HRD Minister, he had introduced many reforms, including the remarkable transformation of Nidamarru Zilla Parishad High School into a model school that meets global standards. He said all government schools in the state will be developed in a similar style.

He also highlighted the promotion of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Mangalagiri town as one of the major initiatives he undertook.

AP State Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation Chairman Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, TDP Politburo Member Guthikonda Dhanunjay, TTD Board Member Tammisetti Janaki Devi and others were present.
