
Minister of Health Ma. Subramanian launched a cancer screening program on Monday in a government medical facility in POONDI.
The Minister said this program is launched in all 38 districts at an estimated cost of 27 Crore. Initially, such programs of cancer screening were launched in four districts where more cancer was detected.
Of the 20,45,764 persons invited to screening, 15.45 218 participated and 351 persons underwent cancer. Now they are doing well because their condition was diagnosed in time and appropriate treatment was provided, the Minister explained.
Mr Subramanian said that the program of cancer screening was announced in the state budget 2024. “We are introducing this program in 12 districts from here today. Screening will be carried out in 822 centers, including primary health centers, government hospitals and Medical College hospitals,” he explained.
Working on the development of the Research Center for Cancer in Kancheepuram at the cost of CRORE 372 GBP. It is expected to be completed by the next month and the device will be started by the main minister, he said.
Mr Subramanian also stated that within the Innuyir Kappom program, more than three victims of MAKHU accidents were treated within 48 hours of the accident at the cost of more than 330 GBP Crore.
He pointed out that this program came to praise from the Supreme Court, who wanted to know what the Union Government was. The Ministry of Health of the Union announced that the victims will be provided 1.5 lakh, but under certain conditions. “We will explain the Minister of the Union’s Health that the money must be provided immediately to help the affected victims,” he said. Minister felicitated the nurses on the day of International Nurses Day, which was celebrated every year on May 12, the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.
