
Africa India Economic Foundation (AIEF) suggested to set up a government instrument and training (GTTC) in Namibia, while Karnataka GTTC as a knowledge and technology partner.
“Aief at a recent meeting with the Minister of Karnataka for Medical Education and Development Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil Patil emphasized the potential of GTTC serving as a robust model for the needs of industrial education in Africa,” the Minister of the Office said.
GTTC, a state institution with inheritance for more than five decades, has been operating 20 plus centers across Karnataka, trains thousands in accurate instruments, mechatronics and robotics.
“GTTC boasts a strong graduate base with more than five qualified Lakh experts, curriculum in accordance with real -time industrial requirements and deep -rooted industrial links,” said Anil Sinde, Secretary General Aief. “Its operational expertise can be smoothly adapted to African contexts,” he added.
Aief was created to support strategic integration of knowledge, technology, trade and investment between India and 54 African nations. “After this vision, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras established in 2023 in Zanzibar, Zanzibar, the first ever according to the IIT.
R. Kanchanavele, a common secretary of Aief, emphasized the potential of Namibia as a partner, rich in natural resources, including uranium, diamonds, gold and minerals of rare soils. “Namibia is also rapidly evolving in sectors such as maritime industry, energy, agriculture, logistics and tourism. It is politically stable, English -speaking and friendly, making it an ideal choice for such cooperation,” he said.
YK Dinesh Kumar, CEO, GTTC, noted that partnership would create business trips for GTTC graduates in Africa and opened new markets for MSME based in Karnataka. “This initiative will build Karnataka as a global skill center,” Dr. Patil.
