KSRTC conductor suspended for allegedly insulting school student

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has suspended the bus conductor ‘Priyadarshini’, plying the Guruvayur-Ernakulam route, on allegations of allegedly insulting a higher secondary student.

This is based on a complaint lodged with the Paravur police, which alleged that he spoke inappropriately to the girl when she, allegedly with groomed hair, was seeking a ‘zero ticket’ to avail the free travel scheme for women in KSRTC buses. Pramoj Sankar, chairman and managing director, KSRTC, directed his suspension after its vigilance wing found serious lapses in the conductor’s behavior towards the passenger.
