Two bus passengers detained for possession of illegal arrack near Katpadi

Two persons were arrested after police seized 10 liters of illegal arrack on board a bus in Christianpet village on Saturday. The accused, S. Babulal Kashyap, 25, and R. Bhumesh Kashyap, 24, hailed from Chhattisgarh and were traveling in a State Transport Corporation bus from Tirupati to Hosur.

Police found the contraband when the bus stopped at a checkpoint near Katpadi while checking the vehicle. The accused said they were taking it to Hosur, where they were working in a private firm, to sell to labourers.

Both were arrested and lodged in Vellore Central Jail. A case has been registered by the Katpadi police.
