Indian Premier League is about to continue until 16 May, the best Indian cricket council official said to India today. The finals are expected to take place either 30 May or 1 June. The best source of BCCI told India today that the remaining IPL matches will be played in different places – most likely four. The tournament will start with the match Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
“We informed all the parties involved and the teams are calling back their players and supporting staff. EKANA is preparing for the match and the LSG team is assembled by 13 May,” said BCCi today India.
Hyderabad is likely to host 1 and eliminator. Kolkata is likely to host the qualifying 2 and the finals on May 30 or 1 June. India also learned today that the 2 qualifier and the finals could be moved from Kolkata, if the bad weather would be expected to spoil the match. If the rain is expected to affect matches, the finals will be moved to Ahmedabad. BCCI is likely to announce a redesigned schedule soon.
At the beginning of May 9, BCCi postponed the IPL for a week in the middle of a sharp escalation in military tension between India and Pakistan, which caused a terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The decision came the day after the match between Kings Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned in Dharamsale to warn the air raid in the nearby regions of Jammu and Pathankot.
At present, the Pandjab VS Delhi match will be drawn without contectest, with both teams share one point each point and that the tournament will start with a match between LSG and RCB.
