The Association of Insurance Pensioners All India (AIIPA) will organize its 9. General Conference from 2 to 4 June in Mysur in connection with the seminar on Saturday.
The organizers said it was a prelude to a three -day conference and the association has made a campaign to support its demand for universal pension as a social security that will be the main problem of discussion during the conference.
The seminar was a foregoing and part of the nationwide campaign to support their demand, and AIIPa managers stated that existing pension systems covering both the central and the employees of the state government, and the employees in the public and private sectors were contributing in nature and were contributory pension systems.
In coordination with other organizations, however, AIIPa supported the demand for a universal pension scheme that is unbeatable.
Aiipa, which quoted the report of the National Population Commission, said that seniors make up more than 15% of the population, but most of them are without social security or pension benefits. The association, said, was a stain on the nation and quoted judicial observations that the pension was not charity, but the right of seniors for dignified life after retirement.
Aiipa also opposed the ongoing privatization efforts of the government and policy of the “anti -mamm” center and the state. It was possible to develop an unconstructed pension system for all seniors by charging a small tax on the highest 1% of our super rich, the association noted.
This aspect was repeated by persons of resources at the seminar, including Shrikanth Misra, Secretary General Aiiea, KN Umesh, Secretary of the Center for Indian Trade Unions, New Dill and others.
