
Carlos Alcaraz made a strong return after defeating the Serbian Dusan Lajovic in round 64 at the Italian open 2025. On Friday, May 9, Alcaraz lasted an hour and 22 minutes to win the match 6-3, 6-3 at Court Court. The Spaniard to defend his title French Open later this month, missed Madrid open earlier because of injuries of hamstring and weaknesses.
22-year-old Alcaraz started brilliantly in the opening set and went 5-1 with a double break. Although Lajovic earned one of the breaks back, Alcaraz broke him for the third time to close the elimination in 43 minutes.
In the second set Alcaraz went 2-0 with a break of service, then he did not look. After returning after the release of Alcaraz’s injury, he said he felt comfortable as he moved in court.
Alcaraz beats Lajovic 6-3 6-3 in Rome
Carlos will win his second victory in Rome.
Great to see him back from the injury after the missing Madrid.
He played some special tennis in Monte Carlo.
Looks like he’ll come back to it.

“Hello in the office”
“The body feels great. After today’s match I think I was moving well. Today I did some good sprint without any pain. It was great for me. I think I passed the test,” Alcaraz said in a court interview after the match.
“I try to feel more comfortable on the pitch, move without thinking about injury. I think he was a really good day in the office today. Hopefully, tomorrow and Sunday will be better,” Alcaraz added.
Alcaraz made 24 unforced mistakes, but made a fix with 24 winners, 13 more than his Serbian rival. After winning 10 of his last 11 matches, Alcaraz looked quite good before the Major Judgment in Roland Garros.
He will also against the winner of the match between Alex Michelsen from the United States and Laslo Djere from Serbia.
