Former England Captain Michael Vaughan hovered the idea that the Indian cricket council could host the Indian Premier League in the UK. Vaughan took on to X on Friday, May 9, and published a report that it could be hosted in the UK in favor of India because they play England in a 5-match test series right after.
IPL 2025 was suspended for week 9. May, in the middle of the escalation of tension between India and Pakistan. On May 8, the match between Kings Kings and Delhi Capitals was hung in the middle of the game after the Blackout at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsale was made.
BCCI confirmed on Friday that with regard to the situation they took steps to miss crickets back to their homes.
He responded to the news and Vaughan hovering the idea that India could overpart a tournament in England, where he plays a 5-match test series against Ben Stokes from 20 June.
“I wonder if it is possible to complete the IPL in the UK … we have all the places and Indian players can stay on the test series … just the idea,” said Michael Vaughan on X.
The Indian test series against England begins on June 20 and will continue until the first of August. Then the BCCI will have an IPL host window on the Asia Cup Days – a tournament that could be under the cloud due to recent development.
What did BCCI say about IPL 2025?
The Cryt In India (BCCI) Council has decided to suspend the rest of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with an immediate effect for one week. Further updates concerning the new schedule and tournament places will be announced at the right time after a comprehensive assessment of the situation after consultation with the relevant authorities and stakeholders.
The decision was adopted by the IPL Council for administration after proper consultation with all the key parties. This was followed by the representation of most franchises, who mediated the concerns and sentiments of their players, as well as the opinions of transmitters, sponsors and fans.
While the BCCI stores full faith in the strength and readiness of our armed forces, the Council considered it reasonable to act in the collective interest of all parties involved.
At this critical intersection, the BCCI stands firmly with the nation. We express our solidarity with the Indian government, armed forces and the people of our country. The Board of Directors greets bravery, courage and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under Sindoor surgery continue to protect and inspire the nation because they lead to a decisive response to a recent terrorist attack and unfounded aggression by Pakistani armed forces.
While cricket remains a national passion, there is nothing greater than the nation and its sovereignty, integrity and security. The BCCI remains firmly determined to support any effort that protects India and always harms its decision with the best interest of the nation.
BCCI thanks its key participating party, Si -Tar, the official league transmitter, for their understanding and unwavering support. The Board of Directors is also grateful to the TATA title and all associated partners and parties involved for their unambiguous support for this decision and for the introduction of the national interest.
