
A special team of Railway Protective Forces (RPF) confiscated 12.5 kg Ganja on Thursday from a passenger at the intersection of Tiruchi.
On Thursday, the team on Thursday carried out a special drive on board Chennai-Guruvayur Express (16127) between Srirangam and Tiruchius the intersection after the attack of Pahalgam to detect the unlawful transportation of smuggled objects and suspicious activities of anti-social elements.
During the operation, the team detained a man who traveled with a general coach. After reaching Tiruchi’s intersection, the team checked the two bags he carried and found seven volumes containing 12.5 kg of Ganja. The smuggler was set at 2.5 GBP Lakh.
Asking the traveler revealed his name as P. Sakil Seikh (39) from West Bengal. He traveled from Chennai Egmore to Ernacula in a general compartment. The team confiscated a mobile phone and 2,270 GBP cash from the accused. He was subsequently handed over to the cidal police official office.
