
The collector of Vinod Kumar V. asked people to be careful about the lightning strikes during sudden rains and to take the necessary measures to prevent them.
The collector, who reviewed various questions about the anantapur district on Thursday, said that the State Office for the Catastrophe Adaster Andhra Pradesh (APSDMA) predicts sudden rain and the possibility of lightning strikes in the district and proposed certain measures. He said the apsdma sends text messages about the weather and people should follow them.
Mr. Vinod Kumar said that people should be in lightning and not stay in the agricultural fields and open places, under trees or electric poles, so that people should behave under a building or a closed vehicle. He suggested that people restrict their movement when there is a flash and prediction of heavy rains. “Those who work in agricultural fields or open places should rush to safer places during heavy rains. People should not get out of their houses even 30 minutes after the sounds and lightning prevented,” he said.
The collector suggested that electronic appliances and goods should not be used during lightning strokes. He also asked people not to burn or wash their hands.
Mr. Vinod Kumar said that the losses of agriculture due to sudden precipitation 21. April was 15.90 GBP crore, while the loss of gardening crops was 43 GBP lakh.
