News of the possible project emerged this week, with Page Six claiming that Harry was “wooing” Spencer to take part in the documentary. The report says the Duke of Sussex is reaching out to people connected to Diana as he considers ways to celebrate the milestone anniversary in 2027.
However, the document has not been officially announced. PEOPLE reported that Harry is considering several ways to honor his mother’s legacy, including a possible documentary, but no project has been finalized or confirmed.
As part of these discussions, he allegedly approached members of Diana’s family and her friends.
How Earl Spencer made headlines with his latest book
Earl Spencer, Diana’s younger brother, is among the family members whose involvement has drawn attention. His potential involvement comes as he promotes his memoir Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which explores his relationship with Diana and his memories of the events surrounding her life and death.
The book has already attracted considerable attention for Spencer’s claims about the royal family, including allegations about the reaction of King Charles III. after Diana’s death in 1997. Buckingham Palace responded by saying that grief can affect memory and judgement, while Spencer maintained that he was telling exactly what he remembered.
Spencer has also recently spoken publicly about Harry and Meghan Markle. In an interview with the BBC, he said he was concerned for Harry’s safety and described aspects of the media’s treatment of Harry and Meghan as echoing the treatment of Diana. He also said he did not take sides between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.

Cited by The Independent, The Telegraph reported that Archewell Productions could be involved and that Netflix could potentially be linked through the Sussexes’ existing deal with the streaming service. However, details remain unconfirmed.
