TDP leader claims ₹500 crore scam in Sachivalayam jobs during YSRCP tenure

Telugu Desam Party MLC Bhumireddy Ramagopal Reddy has accused the previous YSRCP regime led by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of indulging in a ₹500 crore scam by selling Sachivalayam (ward and village secretariats) jobs.

Addressing the media in Kadapa on Saturday, he said that each job was sold to YSRCP leaders at various levels for anything between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000,000.

“Candidates’ names written on paper chips were sent to district collectors with job recommendation,” the TDP leader alleged.

Mr. Reddy also pointed out that as many as 3,437 posts were allotted under the sports quota, of which 801 were “selected” only to participate in school games.

“Any candidate who played, did not win any medal or prize, any game in the neighborhood school and presented a certificate to that effect, got the job,” he noted.

The MLC also accused the previous government of giving jobs to those who participated in rural games, folk festivals and rural celebrations like ‘Sankranti Sambaralu’.

With such shoddy results, Mr. Jagan blamed our sports quota policy, Mr. Reddy said, demanding that the state government investigate the case and unearth the scam.
