INL invites former members, sympathizers to rejoin the party

The Indian National League (INL) will formulate and implement a time-bound action plan to strengthen its ideological base and expand its organizational presence in Kerala, party president Ahammed Devarkovil and general secretary Kasim Irikkur said on Saturday (September 26, 2026).

Addressing the media here, officials said the INL will conduct campaigns, study programs and organizational work to respond to the changing political situation in the state and the country.

These steps were taken as part of the party’s 33rd anniversary. The heavy defeat suffered by the Left Democratic Front in the last election has also prompted a wider introspection and political rethink, they said. The INL will seek to include in its campaign those who share the political ideals of its founder Ibrahim Sulaiman Sait, as well as former members and sympathizers who have moved away from the party for various reasons.

They claimed that the Congress-led United Democratic Front had deviated from its secular political position and accused the Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League of compromising the interests of the Sangh Parivar. They warned that such developments could create room for Hindutva politics in Kerala.
