A new UK Deputy High Commissioner has been appointed

The United Kingdom has appointed Harshbir Sangha as its new Deputy High Commissioner to Karnataka. He will also serve as the UK’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Investment in South Asia.

Prior to his post in India, Mr. Sangha was Deputy Director of Satellite Communications and PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) at the UK Space Agency.

“In his role, Mr Sangha will be responsible for all aspects of the UK’s engagement in Karnataka. The role includes fostering business and trade links in the state, strengthening scientific, technological and educational cooperation and working with partners to address climate change,” the release said.

He will also serve as UK Trade Commissioner for Investment in South Asia with a mandate to further strengthen and promote the UK as a preferred destination for foreign direct investment from India and the wider South Asian region.
