Asian Games 2026 Live Updates Day 7: Sawan Barwal produced a breakthrough performance for India at the 2026 Asian Games, winning silver in the men’s marathon final, ending India’s long wait for a medal in the event. Barwal’s podium finish is India’s first marathon medal at the Asian Games since the 1982 edition in Delhi and added another major result to the country’s athletics campaign in Aichi-Nagoya.
Attention then turned to the men’s decathlon, where India’s national record holder Tejaswin Shankar began his quest for a second consecutive Asian Games medal.
