Prakasam District Collector takes charge as ZP Special Officer

District Collector Prakasam P. Raja Babu on Friday (September 25, 2026) took charge as the ZP Special Officer in Ongola after the Zilla Parishad Chairman’s term ended.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that efforts would be made to ensure continuous implementation of various welfare and development programs introduced by the state government.

The Collector informed that this tenure will continue until new elections are held and new chairmen are elected. He noted that the undivided Prakasam district comprises 56 mandals and 784 MPTC constituencies.

Meanwhile, the administration will proceed in coordination with the mandal and district level officials to ensure speedy implementation of the government plans, he said, adding that steps are being taken to resolve various issues in the Panchayat Raj system without causing inconvenience to the public. He added that steps are being taken to address complaints while fulfilling electoral duties to ensure the smooth conduct of elections.
