Man arrested for alleged sexual assault in Kozhikode

Chevayur police have arrested a 58-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a mentally challenged woman at a cottage in Koyilandy. The arrested person is PK Rashik (58) from Karuvissera.

According to the police, the incident happened on September 20, 2026. The defendant allegedly drove the woman to the cottage and allegedly assaulted her.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the Chevayur police registered a case and started an investigation. Acting on a tip-off received by the Special Branch that the accused was in Kozhikode, the police traced and took him into custody. The accused was produced in court on Thursday (September 24, 2026) and remanded in judicial custody.
