The annual tirupati gangamma jatara-week folk festival will start from 6 May. The Tirupati police pushed the close safety of your VA of his famous Gangamma temple, located in the heart of Tirupati.
The festivities that last until 13 May to 13 May will witness the great crowds devoted from all over Rayalaseem, Nellore districts and bordering states Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Gangamma Jatara is known for its pulsating and unique traditions, gaining attention throughout India after the film Telugu “Pushpa – The Rule”. The film contains some scenes of ancient practices followed by a temple – like men dressed as women who come to the temple to offer prayers on the last day.
The state government Andhra Pradesh declared this event as a state festival.
Special Committee of the local MLA Arani Srinivasulu (Tirupati), Pulivarthi Nani (Chandragiri), member of the Board of Directors of TTD G. Bhanuprakash Reddy District President Samanchi Srinivas to supervise agreements.
Police Superintendent (Tirupati) V. Harshavardhan Raju checked security measures, including the creation of queues, barricades and forces deployment. He also gave instructions to the sub-devils cops on the diversion of traffic to be implemented in the area, especially in the last two days, when it is expected that thousands of devotees thrive the shrine. All arrangements were closed after consultation with members of the temple committee.
Another superintendent K. Ravi Manoharachary, representatives of superintendent K. Bhaktavatsalam (Tirupati) and Ramakrishnachari (operation) were present for the inspection.
