Bengaluru: Commuters jump onto the tracks at Rajajinagar metro station

A passenger jumped onto the tracks at the Rajajinagar Metro station in Bengaluru at around 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23.

According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials, the platform security staff spotted the man on the tracks and alerted the station management. As a precaution, the Emergency Disconnect System (ETS) was activated while the station dispatcher and security personnel responded immediately.

The passenger was freed within minutes and was not found to have sustained any injuries. He was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation.

The official said no trains were delayed due to the incident. “The passenger was safely rescued within minutes and handed over to the police. The station dispatcher and security personnel immediately responded to the incident and overall metro operations were normal,” the official said.
