Man dies in wall collapse in Ranipet

A 35-year-old wage laborer was killed after a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed on him while he was working to demolish a building in Kalar village on Wednesday.

Police said the deceased victim was identified as R. Vinod Kumar, 35, a resident of Tiruvannamalai. Initial investigations revealed that B. Saravanan, 57, a businessman, had called several workers, including Vinod Kumar, to renovate his dilapidated house. Vinod Kumar succumbed to his injuries at the Taluk Government Hospital.

A case has been registered. A probe is underway.
