Social security, social security fund payment of pensions from September 24

The state government will start distribution of social security pensions and welfare funds for September from Thursday, Chief Minister VD Satheesan’s office said. The Finance Department has sanctioned ₹ 1,068.79 crore for both the pension categories. ₹957.93 crore was sanctioned for Social Security Pensions and ₹110.86 crore for Social Security Fund Board Pensions.

In the case of social security pensions, ₹ 531.62 crore will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Pension money totaling ₹ 426.30 crore will be distributed to households through primary cooperative credit societies, the finance department order said. The distribution of pensions must be completed by October 5, the order said.
