A man from Hyderabad slammed his Indian passport and claimed no advantage when traveling abroad. He said that having an Indian passport does not bring any benefits even though it is valid up to ₹1 million in taxes annually. He called it “absolutely unnecessary”.

The post was shared on X by entrepreneur Jitender Emmani. “Our passport is absolutely useless,” he wrote.
Emmani said his passport restricts him from traveling to most countries without visas and extensive paperwork. He added that most Indians chase other passports to avoid trouble.
“You can’t go anywhere well without waiting days for visas or submitting a thousand pages. No wonder so many Indians are chasing other passports,” he added.
Why US Visas Can Be Beneficial
Emmani, who is the founder of Cozy Farms, said that having a United States visa in the Indian passport makes it easier for holders to travel. However, securing a visa stamp from the states themselves can be challenging.
“A valid US visa is a shortcut many people use. Why do we need a US stamp to let an Indian passport in anywhere,” he added.
The man went on to share how high taxation in India brings no benefits, not even in terms of travel. He said it applies somewhere in between ₹75 lakhs to 1 crore directly or indirectly as tax per year.
“I pay almost 75l – 1cr in taxes directly and indirectly annually and have no benefits both locally and internationally. We need to start fixing the situation in our country and stop blaming ourselves for the past for a few more decades,” he concluded.

“For the first time someone has echoed my plight deep down as an internal struggle. God knows how much I have paid in taxes and yet the services I receive are pissport. My passport is a disgrace to my accomplishments (sic),” commented someone who agreed with the post.
Another stressed: “I don’t see that changing in the near future. Especially the Schengen visa and even the US visa has also become very strict.”
Another argued: “Not everything is available everywhere. Maybe you can get a strong passport but not the option to pay 1 cr plus tax. Will you? Many would rather have a passport if given the opportunity to pay 1 cr plus tax (sic).”
