The main Minister Delhi Rekha Gupta claimed that Sanskrit was a “scientific” language and that NASA has recognized it as such. Gupta made a note that dealt with the ceremonial ending of the 10 -day initiative for learning Sanskrit in Nový Delhi 4 May.
“Even NASA scientists have written Sanskrit papers and confirmed that it is a scientific language. Coding can be done in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the most pleasant language,” Gupta quoted the PTI news agency.
The main minister’s claim was probably based on a contribution from 1985 published in the AI magazine. The paperentitled “Representation of Knowledge in Sanskrit and Artificial Intelligence”, he was the author of Rick Briggs, associated with the NASA Ames Research Center, who tried to prove that “natural language can serve as an artificial language”.
Briggs, which is known little else, quoted in paper ancient Sanskrit grammar, who “achieved” methods for “paraphrase of sanskritů in a way that is not only essentially, but in the form with contemporary work in artificial intelligence”.
Social bias against Sanskrit
At the Action 4th May, Chief Minister Gupta said that social bias considered the fluency in foreign languages a sign of intelligence, often rejecting Sanskrit.
“If our children speak smoothly French, German or English, then we consider this child very clear and we are proud of it. But if the child can speak with the same smoothness, it is not a big problem,” she said.
Gupta argued that Sanskrit is not only the foundation of Indian culture, but also an integral part of many Indian languages.
“Every state has a mother tongue, but in fact Sanskrit is our mother tongue because every language came from Sanskrit. Hindi, Marathi, Bengal, Sindhi, Malayalam – these are all branches of Sanskrit,” she said.
The event was also attended by the Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah, Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh.
Even NASA scientists have written papers for Sanskrit and confirmed that it is a scientific language.
The Delhi government, in cooperation with the NGO Samskrit Bharati, carried out free Sanskrit class from April 23 at 1,008 locations across urban schools, universities and temples, with daily two -hour sessions focused on language.
