The post drew sharply divided reactions, with some users questioning the decision while others expressed their support.
‘My company has rules’: CEO responds to criticism
One user called the decision “extremely ignorant, unprofessional and bigoted” and argued that employees should be judged on competence and possibly individual behavior rather than country of origin.

Another user supported Karthik and wrote, “Well done Kathik. We need more and more men like you. You shouldn’t be sorry at all. Gobar belt deserves this!”
A third user questioned whether such a policy could be justified by crime statistics, writing: “Your organization your rules, but if you look at current events and news, tell me which states don’t have crimes against women?
By this logic you have to hire only from foreign countries, like all states from India, you will find one or the other case of such things.”
The CEO reports alleged employee misconduct
In the following post, Karthik offered further context for his decision. He said the problem began after an employee from one of the four states was fired following allegations of abusive behavior toward female employees.
“Let me set this straight again…
This mess started 2 weeks ago when an employee from one of the states mentioned above was fired despite warning him twice that he was still insulting female employees and forcing himself on one of them… We work with quite young children… Do you think men with this ideology and mindset even deserve a chance?”
Karthik also said that his company has 32 employees, including 14 women, and that 20 employees are from other states, including 12 from states outside South India.
The Jamui case adds to the online debate
The discussion comes amid renewed focus on the safety of women and minors after a video from Jamui in Bihar purportedly showing a minor girl and her male companion being molested by a group of people went viral.
Police have arrested several accused in the case. The main accused, identified as Nandan Yadav, was shot in the leg during a police encounter on Tuesday, according to police sources.
