NTPC Electron Quiz Regional Round (South) was held in Chennai

The prestigious Electron Quiz Regional Round of South NTPC was held at MMA Auditorium, Chennai with enthusiastic participation from some of the leading engineering and management institutions of the country. While one team from IIT-Madras emerged as the winner, the other team from IIT-M secured the second position. The team from Rajalakshmi Engineering College finished third.

A total of 230 teams of two participated in the preliminary round and six teams advanced to the grand final. Welcoming the participants, Shri SN Panigrahi, ED (HR) and Regional Director HR (North & South) highlighted NTPC’s key role in promoting national growth while nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of learning, innovation and intellectual excellence through such knowledge-based initiatives.

The quiz was conducted by renowned quizmaster Gautam Bose. The Grand Final saw an intense and intellectually stimulating battle in which the teams displayed remarkable poise, depth of knowledge and composure under pressure. At the end of a very competitive final round, IIT MADRAS emerged as the winner while IIT MADRAS secured the second position. Rajalakshmi Engineering College finished third.

The winning team received a cash prize of ₹60,000, while the runners-up received ₹40,000 and the runners-up received ₹20,000. All the consolation prize winners were awarded prizes worth ₹8,000 each, the report said. The top two teams will advance to the semi-finals to be held in New Delhi on October 7, 2026.
