Liquor shops will remain closed in Cyberabad for the final immersion of the Ganesh idol

Wine shops and bars attached to restaurants across the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate will remain closed for 24 hours during the final Ganesh immersion on September 25.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh ordered the closure from 6 am on September 25 to 6 am on September 26 in the interest of public peace and tranquility. Bars in star hotels and registered clubs are excluded from the order.

The order was issued under Section 20 of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ramesh visited the Malkam Cheruvu Ganesh lake for idol immersion on Tuesday evening and reviewed the security arrangements for the ongoing immersion.

He inspected the cranes used for the immersion, checked the level and arrangement of the water in the pond and instructed the officials to ensure the smooth progress of the immersion and the convenience of the public.

Senior officials from Kukatpally Zone, Women Safety Wing, Traffic and Law and Order Department were present during the inspection.
