Leaders of IB schools from across India are gathering for ‘IB Manthan 2026’ in the city

More than 200 school leaders and International Baccalaureate (IB) educators from across India gathered for the IB Manthan 2026, a one-day forum for professional dialogue, reflection and exchange of educational practices held at the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad.

The forum explored key themes including student agency, assessment, inclusion, leadership and learning in a connected world.

Held under the theme ‘Learning Beyond: Educating for a Connected World’, the event challenged participants to explore how schools can strengthen student agency, assessment, inclusion and leadership while preparing young people to engage thoughtfully in a rapidly changing world.

Head of South Asia and Japan for the International Baccalaureate, Ashish Trivedi, gave the welcome speech. The head of the Academy, Jonathan Long, welcomed the participants and guests. International Baccalaureate CEO Olli-Pekka Heinonen spoke to the gathering about the growing importance of IB education in India and its role in helping young people navigate an increasingly connected world.

In two rounds of breakout sessions, participants considered topics including student agency, assessment, inclusion, leadership and developing connected school communities.
