Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) claimed that this season (2024-25) was large fraud in cotton commissioning because there was a “huge difference in details of public procurement”.
Addressing and Press Conference Here On Saturday, Former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, and Party Leaders Errolla Srinivas, Manne Goverdhan Reddy and Y. Satish Reddy Said That Against 25 Lakh Farmers, WHO Cultivated Cotton, Only 6.3 Lakh Had Sold Their India (CCI), But the ‘and Pattis’
Against the total production of 49 Lakhy cotton, the government claimed that CCI had received 41 lakh packages, when only 20% of farmers sold their CCI production, BRS leaders said.
They also stated that the government issued 60,000 TRS (sales representatives or registration) and purchased most of the cotton from farmers at a price not exceeding 5,500 to 6,000 GBP for the 7,521 GBP support price. However, the government falsely stated that CCI gained 80% cotton.
The BRS leaders claimed that the leaders of the ruling party deceived farmers with false TR numbers, and most of the money released/paid CCI reached the accounts of traders and intermediaries/brokers who bought cotton from farmers at a smaller price and sold it to CCI at a supportive price and agriculture and agriculture officials.
They demanded a probe to exercise public procurement with a sitting judge because farmers lost more than 2,000 GBP per quintal. They also quoted “fraud” in the offers of civilian vans (selling Paddy). The Government of Telangany was looking for postponing the case at the High Court 14 times to postpone the submission of the counter, they added.
