Several injured in a dog attack in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Several people were injured when a domestic dog that went berserk attacked Poonthur residents on their way to work and church on Monday (September 21, 2026).

According to reports, 15 people, including women and children, were injured. They were treated at various hospitals, including the Poonthura Community Health Center and the general hospital. One of them, who was seriously injured, was taken to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

It is not yet known if the dog has been traced or if it has been found to be rabid.
