Five members of an interstate gang held in Kannur

The Kannur city police have arrested five Uttar Pradesh natives who were allegedly part of an inter-state gang that was allegedly planning to carry out burglaries through Keralam.

Those arrested are Sameer, Mohsin, Mohammed Sajid Ansari, Mohammed Sahil and Monish, all from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. Police said several members of the gang face theft charges.

A special team led by District Superintendent of Police (Kannur City) Vijay Bharath Reddy conducted a search at a cottage in Kannur on Sunday (September 20, 2026) night and arrested five men. Police also seized vehicles and tools allegedly used by the gang.
