Traffic curbs, diversions announced across Cyberabad for Ganesh immersion

Cyberabad Traffic police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions around several Ganesha idol immersion sites, with the curbs to remain in place till the morning of September 26.

The restrictions apply to the IDL Lake in Kukatpally, Pragathi Nagar Lake, Gangaram Lake, Kattamaisamma Tank and Malkam Cheruvu, besides private bus curbs on key routes.

At IDL Lake, IDL Tank Road will remain closed to all vehicles except those participating in Ganesh processions between IDL entrance and Rainbow Vista. Traffic from Kukatpally Y Junction towards Madhapur via IDL Tank Road will be diverted at IDL entrance towards JNTU, Forum Mall, Hitec City and Madhapur.

Vehicles coming from Hitec City, Madhapur and Hafeezpet towards Kukatpally Y Junction will be diverted via Lucky Restaurant signal, KPHB Phase 4, Road No. 1 and Remedy Hospital roundabout. An alternative route via Khaithlapur flyover, Rainbow Vista, Anjaiah Nagar junction and Moosapet has also been suggested.

Around Pragathi Nagar Lake, the road between Srinivasa Steel and Three Monkey Junction will be closed for normal traffic. Vehicles from Gandimaisamma and Pragathi Nagar heading towards JNTU will be diverted via Nizampet Village and Nizampet Road. Traffic in the opposite direction towards Pragathi Nagar Colony will be diverted via Tulasinagar, Konaseema Hotel Road and Nizampet village.

Heavy vehicles coming from Patancher will be diverted at BHEL Junction via Tara Nagar Market, Tellapur and Gopanpally. Heavy vehicles traveling between Gandimaisamma and Balanagar will also face diversions via Bahadurpally, Dulapally, Suraram and Bowrampet depending on the direction of travel.

At Malkam Cheruvu, general traffic coming from the Dargah on Old Mumbai Highway will be diverted via Road No. 32 behind Malkam Cheruvu and KIMS Hospital Lane before rejoining the highway. This restriction will be in effect from noon on September 25th until 8:00am on September 26th.

Private tour buses will also face restrictions during the immersion period. Buses traveling from Miyapur to Hyderabad via Kukatpally Y Junction, those traveling from Miyapur via Hafeezpet, Kondapur and Gachibowli and buses traveling from BHEL Junction towards Gachibowli via HCU Road will be restricted. Operators have been asked to use the BHEL-Patancheru-ORR route instead.

Police advised commuters to plan their journeys for detours and to work with transport staff.
