According to Karnataka Irrigation Department officials, he has planned to construct a barrage across the Krishna river upstream from the confluence of the Krishna and Bhima rivers near Gurjapur village in Raichur taluk. It is intended to provide uninterrupted water supply to the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS).
The Telangana minister said the primary discussions revolved around guidelines to protect the interests of Telangana, especially with regard to its future irrigation and drinking water needs and the dam proposed by Karnataka. The Telangana party has also made proposals to alleviate the drinking water problem in the catchment areas. The discussions will be explained to Chief Minister A.
