CPI(M) holds protests, seeks houses, patta plots for homeless

The CPI(M) staged a protest outside the Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) in Chinagadili demanding houses, plots and pattas for eligible homeless persons. The protesters also demanded registration of pattas, correction of measurement errors and regularization of eligible lands.

CPI(M) district secretariat member RKSV Kumar said that beneficiaries under the TIDCO and Jagananna housing schemes are yet to receive completed houses even though some beneficiaries have paid their contribution. He sought to implement the TDP-led coalition’s election promise to allot two cents of land in the city to eligible homeless people and construct houses for them.

The protestors submitted representations and demands to Deputy Tahsildar Kalyan Varma. CPI(M) also sought allotment of TIDCO and Hudhud houses to local beneficiaries.
