Two years after the outbreak of ethnic violence in the manipure, half of the weapons were plundered from the police during the conflict, and the recovery rate accelerated after the presidential rule was deposited in the State 13.
At least 6,020 weapons were excluded from police armies after violence between Kuki-Zo and Meitei people broke out in the state of May 3, 2023.
“We have earned more than 5,000 weapons so far, this also includes weapons. Some weapons have been modified. Since 13 February, approximately 1750 police weapons have been acquired,” the official said, adding that although the effort was earned earlier, police weapons were obtained at a significantly higher rate.
Search operations and domination in the area were carried out by security forces in the edge and vulnerable areas of the districts of hills and valleys. The following items were obtained during the operation:

The total number of renewed police weapons is now 3,000, which is a significant leap of 1,200 police weapons that recovered by September 2024. At that time, the police received a total of 2,681 weapons, including weapons.
The official added that in the last three months 200 people have been arrested for blackmail activities.
“No Assembly allowed”
Another government official said that in the state after the calls of the Meitei and Kuki-Zo groups, security increased to observe the second anniversary of violence.
“While protests and demonstrations are allowed on Saturday, we will not allow the assembly. Kuki-ZA groups in Churachandpur were asked not to evoke their protest as a” department day “because it can trigger a second community,” the second government official said.
