CSK will not panic, can compete with any team: Mike Hussey before RCB clash

Despite the unsatisfactory season, which has seen Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from the Playoffs of the IPL race, Batting Coach Mike Hussey insists that the five-time champions do not panic and remain confident in their ability to correspond to any team in the competition.

Hussey spoke before their upcoming clash against the Royal Challengers Bengalur and acknowledged the fighting of the team, but stressed that they remain focused on improvement and long -term planning.

“We will certainly not panic and throw away everything just because it wasn’t good this year,” Hussey said. “But we definitely have to clean up several areas.”

CSK, who won only two of his ten games this season, is currently sitting at the bottom of the table with only four points. I think there are fine margins in this competition,” Hussey added.

Despite the failures of Hussey, he emphasized the positives, especially the introduction of developing players such as Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis. He emphasized the importance of providing the opportunities of young people to develop and ensure their future with the franchise.

“For some people, this is a great opportunity to get a chance to play in IPL. Hopefully they can catch their chances and strengthen their place in the group for several years,” Hussey said. “Several wins and several players who took their opportunities – that would be fantastic by the end of the season.”
