
Kochi Corporation suspended Swapna A., Building Inspector in its Type Zonal Office on Friday (May 2, 2025) after alertness and anti -corruption office (VACB) arrested it for charges.
It was suspended until the investigation according to the provisions of the Kerala Municipality of 1994, she said that the mayor of M. Anilkumar issued on Friday. “Disciplinary measures against it will be reported to the Chief Director, the Ministry of Local Self -Government, for the commencement of other measures according to the rules of the civil service (classification, control and appeal),” he said.
On Wednesday (April 30, 2025), VACB officials were arrested in Ponnunni for alleged search for 15,000 GBP from the builder to process the application for the building number for flats in the complex. Vacb staff reportedly received 45,000 GBP from the bag and handbag and arrived in its vehicle, allegedly to collect a bribe.
On Friday, the Vigilance Sleuths inspected Zonal Office in a probe as part of the probe to accusations of corruption on officials. Reportedly they explored her cabin looking for documents on the applications she considered to assign buildings to buildings. The inspections were also carried out in her apartment on Kaniampuzha Road and her house in Mannuty, Thrissur, in the middle of the suspicion that she had accumulated wealth over her legal sources of income.
After the complaints, she was submitted to the VACB that she allegedly demanded a bribe for allocating the number of buildings.
