ECI functioning as an offshoot of BJP, SIR part of Majority Making Strategy: Congress

The Congress on Sunday (July 5, 2026) claimed that electoral commission (ECI) acts as an “arm BJP” and claimed that SIR was part of “Modi–Shah strategy’ to ‘make a majority’ by manipulating electoral rolls.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that no one was against the process revision of the electoral rollbut what is against it is the way ECI “directs, coordinates and manipulates” the whole process.
