Asian Games 2026: Elavenil Valarivan wins silver in women’s 10m air rifle event

Indian shooter Elavenil Valarivan clinched a silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. It is India’s second silver medal at the Games after earlier winning a silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event, in which Elavenil was also a member. She narrowly missed out on a gold medal before the final four shots in the individual competition. Her success follows in the footsteps of her mentor Gagan Narang, who secured two silver medals in both individual and team events sixteen years ago.
