TN government is concerned about women’s health and well-being, says minister

Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the health and well-being of women as an integral part of a healthy and progressive society, Minister R. Nirmalkumar said that awareness among women in all segments will facilitate the achievement of this goal.

He was speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry and Indian Women’s Network (CII-IWN) Tamil Nadu here on Saturday, which organized VIVIDHA 2026: Health 360°, focusing on women’s health, well-being and healthy workplaces.

Held under the theme “Building Healthy Women, Healthy Workplaces and Healthy Communities”, the conference highlighted the interconnected dimensions of physical health, mental wellbeing, women’s health, workplace wellbeing and the role of technology and innovation in shaping the future of healthcare.

Addressing the conference, CII IWN Tamil Nadu President Amudhavalli Ranganathan emphasized the need to place women’s health at the center of conversations on workforce engagement, productivity and inclusive growth. She noted that as more women enter and contribute to the workforce, there is an equal need to build workplaces that understand and respond to the health needs of women at different life stages.

CII IWN Madurai Zone Convenor Hema Satish, CII Madurai Zone Vice President Balaji Venkatraman, Madurai Young Indians Chapter President Vikranth Karmegam, CII-IWN Vice President Avanti Natarajan, CII-IWN Co-Convenor Visalakshi Kannan and others were present.
