Smriti Mandhana makes history, becomes highest run-getter in Women’s T20Is

Smriti Mandhana now sits atop the run-scoring charts in women’s cricket. The Indian opener went past New Zealand’s Suzie Bates to reach the landmark during the Asian Games women’s cricket semi-final between India and Bangladesh.

Needing just seven runs to overtake Bates, Mandhana did so in the third over with a sensational boundary as India got off to a flying start in the contest.
