The Bengaluru firm has roped in Israel’s P-Cure to launch a network of compact proton therapy centers in India

P-Cure Ltd., an Israeli medical technology company, and ARISTION Proton Center Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based healthcare infrastructure firm focused on advanced oncology and precision medicine, have entered into an agreement to build a network of compact proton therapy centers and dedicated proton therapy infrastructure across India at an investment of ₹1,900 crore.

ARISTION Proton Center to deploy compact synchrotron-based P-Cure proton therapy systems in India. The first such centre, a 660-bed quaternary campus built around integrated AI and augmented care solutions, will come up at Sentient Health City in Jakkur, followed by similar centers in Kochi and other cities, the companies said.

The companies said proton therapy is a non-invasive type of radiation treatment that uses a beam of positively charged particles called protons to destroy cancer cells. Protons travel a precise distance and release a burst of energy directly at the site of the tumor, unlike conventional radiation that travels all the way through the body and damages healthy tissue as well.

Reddy, CMD and Radiation Oncologist, ARISTION Proton Center, said, “India already provides world-class medical care, but what has been missing is precision proton and ion therapy on the scale that a nation of 1.4 billion deserves. The compact P-Cure system provides us with the economics to build not one showpiece facility, but a truly nationwide network providing patients with access to radiation therapy at the world’s most cost-effective resources.”

P-Cure CEO Michael Marash said: “India represents one of the most important growth frontiers for proton therapies and this deal is a milestone for P-Cure as we bring our technology to the country for the first time.”
